I think need to go back to my old comic strip schedule, which involved the goal of 3 strips a week but letting my productivity set the pace. Generally, I try to stay ahead by producing one extra strip for the following week, which means, if done consistently, I’ll slowly create a buffer. This also means, if I only make 3 strips, then I’m only putting out 2 strips that week and saving the third one.

I feel like I had a pretty consistent run in April & May, but June & July became increasingly more sporadic. And I’m finding myself with less and less time on my hands and more and more stuff to do. I don’t know, I hate not putting up a strip every Mon-Wed-Fri, but I guess there’s just no avoiding it sometimes.

It’s particularly unnerving for me considering I plan in stages; I’m a first do this-and then move on to this-and then this type of planner. If I don’t get past the early stages, I never even try to touch the later ones.

Speaking of time, I got a chance to see Christian Marclay’s “The Clock” at Lincoln Center last week. If you’re unfamiliar it’s a 24-hour film exhibit featuring movie clips with clocks in them, all strung together in real time. I went from 1:15 to 1:45 PM (and would’ve stayed longer if I wasn’t so hungry), it was almost as if all the movies of the world existed in one reality and you could see it all happening simultaneously.
